Our Itinerary

Those of you playing from home might notice that our posted itinerary has virtually nothing to do with our real trip. For instance, right now I'm sitting at a Starbucks in Salt Lake City--which wasn't even on our original plan. While I'm blogging, Angela is booking a hotel between here and Denver, also not on our itinerary. Next week we'll be in Jefferson City, MO and St Louis. Eventually, we'll make it to Chicago, a place we planned, on dates we didn't. So to appease you, our tolerant friends, while we literally wander across America, here are some pictures of Seattle.

Sea Otter 101

While in Santa Cruz, after completing three very different interviews, we stood at a pier contemplating the day's events. There were tears and questions and then we heard a baby's cry and looked over the railing of the pier to view a lone mother and baby sea otter doing what comes naturally - being in the presence of their Creator. So, we just stood there in silence and watched and laughed and let God wow us with this lesson - let Him take care of us.

Moving Towards the Heartland

Seattle WA disappears in our rearview window this morning. The east beckons; and, it's a long journey in that direction. It's one thing to plot a course on a map. The distances are only a few inches between the index and middle fingers; on the road, the distance is hours long. I joke about my attention span. We pack, get in the car, drive...and I expect us to be there. My mind pictures us there, so why aren't we?!

Before I blog, I write my experiences (with a fountain pen) in my journal. Pen scratching paper raises thoughts from deep within my soul to a daunting surface. Each foray into webspace evokes fears of rejection and ridicule, words of encouragement entice my fingers to play on the keys.

When I learn how to enter prayer requests through that blog space. I'll go there. In the mean time, we're on our way east and stopping in the land of the latter days.
